Getting started

Draw your own rooms

Beginner4 min4 steps

When you have measurements but no plan image, you can create the rooms directly. The first room you draw sets the scale for everything else, so there is no separate calibration step on a blank canvas.

  1. 1

    Add a room

On the empty canvas, click Add a room (or the "Add room" row in the Rooms sidebar). Rooms are a core feature, so they live in the sidebar, not in the Tools menu.

  2. 2

    Enter its size

In the "Add room" box, give it a name (optional, for example Kitchen), pick meters or feet with the units toggle, and type the width and depth, for example 4 m × 3 m. Press Add.

Give the room a name and its width and depth, then press Add.
  3. 3

    Reshape to match reality

Rooms are rarely plain rectangles. Select the room to show its corner handles: drag a corner to move it, or double-click a wall to add a corner and step the outline into an L, T, or U shape. Rename or resize a rectangular room with the pencil in its sidebar row.

Select a room to reveal its corner handles, then drag one or double-click a wall.

    Add the rest

Add each remaining room the same way. Drag a room by its body and its edges snap to neighboring rooms, so shared walls line up instead of doubling. From here, placing furniture works exactly the same.
