Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

Layoutr is a browser-based floor plan tool: you upload or draw a floor plan, set the scale, and place furniture at real-world sizes. It is a trading name of Van Dijk Ontwikkeling, a sole proprietorship registered in the Netherlands under Chamber of Commerce number 42036550.

By using Layoutr you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Our contact details are at the end of this page.

2. The plans

The core tool is free and runs directly in your browser, with no sign-up required, and a free account adds basic account features on top of it.

Pro is a subscription, billed monthly. It adds AI-vision room detection and AI-powered furnishing, subject to a monthly AI credit allowance (section 5), along with multiple floors per project, saving and loading projects, unlimited furniture pieces, priority support, early access to new features, and the ability to submit feature requests. Lifetime is a one-time purchase that includes every Pro feature and a one-time bundle of AI credits, with no recurring charges (sections 4 and 5).

3. Your account

If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for everything that happens under it. Tell us immediately if you suspect someone else has access.

4. Payments and subscriptions

Pro is billed on a recurring basis. Lifetime and any additional AI credits (section 5) are one-time purchases.

Who you buy from

Purchases are sold by Sold through Link, LLC, the merchant of record. It is the seller of your purchase, issues your receipt and invoice, and appears on your statement as LINK.COM*, so its terms apply to the purchase in addition to these. Van Dijk Ontwikkeling remains the licensor of the Layoutr software and is responsible for the service itself. The split is administrative: bring any question about a payment, an invoice or a refund to us, and we will handle it with Link where only the seller can act.

Renewals and cancellation

By subscribing, you authorize a charge to your payment method on each renewal date until you cancel. You can cancel at any time through the billing portal linked from your account page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep Pro features until then.

Lifetime is a single payment rather than a subscription. It does not renew, so there is nothing to cancel. “Lifetime” means for as long as we keep operating Layoutr, and is not a guarantee that the service will remain available indefinitely.

Refunds

Because Link is the seller of record, a refund is issued by Link, but you do not have to arrange that yourself: ask us and we will take it up with Link for you. You can also request one from Link directly, using the contact details on your receipt or in the billing portal. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights apply in full alongside these terms, including any right of withdrawal or cancellation you have under EU or other applicable consumer law, and nothing here limits or waives them.

Price changes

We may change our pricing. For the Pro subscription you will be notified at least 30 days before a change takes effect, so you can cancel before being charged at the new rate.

5. AI features and credits

Two Pro features use artificial intelligence: AI-vision room detection, which detects the rooms and walls in an uploaded floor plan, and AI-powered furnishing, which suggests a furniture arrangement for a room from a short description you write. Both are optional, and the rest of Layoutr works without them. AI results are automated suggestions and estimates, so review them, including all measurements, before relying on them.

These features rely on a paid third-party AI service, so their usage is metered in AI credits. Pro includes a monthly allowance, which refreshes on the same day of each month as the day your subscription started rather than on the first of the calendar month, and unused credits do not carry over. Lifetime includes a one-time bundle of credits instead of a monthly allowance. The credit amounts for each plan are shown on our pricing page and in your account.

If you use up your included credits, you can purchase more. Purchased credits are used only once your included credits are exhausted, and neither purchased credits nor Lifetime credits expire. A failed AI run does not cost a credit.

To keep the service sustainable, AI usage is also subject to reasonable technical limits such as rate limiting. We may adjust credit amounts, introduce new limits, or change credit pricing as the service and its underlying costs evolve. These credit terms apply to all paid plans, including Lifetime and plans purchased before AI features or credits were introduced. If a change materially reduces the AI credits included in your plan, we will give you reasonable advance notice by email or in the app.

6. Your data

Your floor plans and project data are created and stored in your browser and are not uploaded to or stored on our servers. The one exception is the optional AI features in section 5: when you use them, the floor plan image and the details you provide are sent to our servers and our AI provider only to generate your result, and are not stored afterward. Our Privacy Policy sets out how all of this is handled.

Because your project data otherwise exists only in your browser, we cannot recover it if you clear your browser storage or switch devices. We recommend exporting your projects regularly.

7. Acceptable use

You may use Layoutr for any lawful purpose. You may not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile or otherwise interfere with the service, use it in a way that could damage, overload or impair it, or access it with automated scripts without our prior written consent. You may also not use the AI features in an automated, bulk or abusive manner, or attempt to circumvent AI credit allowances or rate limits.

8. Intellectual property

The Layoutr application, its design, and all associated software are the property of Van Dijk Ontwikkeling, and nothing in these terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you.

You keep full ownership of the floor plans you upload and the layouts you create, including arrangements generated with the help of the AI features. We claim no rights over your floor plans or designs.

9. Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that it will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that scale calculations, room detections and furnishing suggestions will be accurate or suitable for professional or construction purposes. Always verify measurements independently before making purchasing or building decisions.

To the fullest extent permitted by Dutch law, Van Dijk Ontwikkeling is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service, including loss of data stored in your browser.

10. Changes to these terms

We update these terms as the service evolves. The date at the top of this page reflects the current version, and continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, and any disputes shall be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands. If mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence grant you rights that cannot be contractually waived, those rights are unaffected by this clause.
