1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using Layoutr, a service operated by Van Dijk Ontwikkeling (CoC 42036550, the Netherlands), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Description of service
Layoutr is a browser-based floor plan tool that lets you upload or draw a floor plan, set a scale, and place furniture at real-world dimensions. You can use the core tool for free, with or without an account. Paid plans add extra features, including AI-assisted tools:
- Without an account. Full access to the core tool directly in your browser, no sign-up required.
- Free account. The core tool with basic account features.
- Pro. A monthly subscription that adds AI-vision room detection and AI-powered furnishing (subject to a monthly AI credit allowance, see section 3), multiple floors per project, save & load functionality, unlimited furniture pieces, priority support, early access to new features, and the ability to submit feature requests.
- Lifetime. A one-time purchase that includes all Pro features and a one-time bundle of AI credits, with no recurring charges (see sections 3 and 5).
3. AI features and credits
Two Pro features use artificial intelligence: AI-vision room detection, which detects the rooms and walls in an uploaded floor plan, and AI-powered furnishing, which suggests a furniture arrangement for a room from a short description you write. Both are optional, and the rest of Layoutr works without them.
These features rely on a paid third-party AI service, so their usage is metered in AI credits. The Pro plan includes a monthly allowance of AI credits that refreshes at the start of each billing month and does not carry over to the next month. The Lifetime plan includes a one-time bundle of AI credits rather than a monthly allowance. The credit amounts for each plan are shown on our pricing page and in your account.
If you use up your included credits, you can purchase additional AI credits. Pro's monthly allowance refreshes at the start of each billing month; Lifetime credits and any credits you purchase do not expire. Purchased credits are used only after your included credits are exhausted.
To keep the service sustainable, AI usage is also subject to reasonable technical limits, such as rate limiting. We may adjust credit amounts, introduce new limits, or change credit pricing as the service and its underlying costs evolve. These credit terms apply to all paid plans, including Lifetime plans and plans purchased before AI features or credits were introduced. If we make a change that materially reduces the AI credits included in your plan, we will give you reasonable advance notice by email or in the app.
When you use an AI feature, the floor plan image and the details you provide are sent to our servers and our AI provider to generate your result. See our Privacy Policy for how that data is handled. AI results are automated suggestions and estimates: they may be inaccurate or unsuitable, and you should review and verify them, including all measurements, before relying on them.
4. Your account
If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.
5. Payments and subscriptions
The Pro plan is a subscription billed on a recurring monthly basis. Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize Stripe to charge your payment method on each renewal date.
You may cancel your subscription at any time via the Stripe customer portal, accessible from your account page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period: you retain access to Pro features until then. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods.
The Lifetime plan is a single one-time payment, not a subscription. It does not renew, and there is nothing to cancel. “Lifetime” means for as long as we continue to operate Layoutr; it is not a guarantee that the service will remain available indefinitely.
Additional AI credits (see section 3) are sold as one-time purchases. One-time payments, including the Lifetime plan and AI credit purchases, are non-refundable once the purchase is made available to your account, except where mandatory consumer law provides otherwise.
We reserve the right to change our pricing. For the monthly subscription, you will be notified at least 30 days before a price change takes effect, giving you the opportunity to cancel before being charged at the new rate.
6. Your data
Your floor plans and project data are created and stored locally in your browser and are not uploaded to or stored on our servers. You retain full ownership of all content you create. We do not claim any rights over your floor plans or designs.
The one exception is the optional AI features (section 3): when you use them, the floor plan image and details you provide are sent to our servers and our AI provider only to generate your result, and are not stored by us afterward. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Because your project data otherwise exists only in your browser, we cannot recover it if you clear your browser storage or switch devices. We recommend exporting your projects regularly.
7. Acceptable use
You may use Layoutr for any lawful purpose. You may not:
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or interfere with the service.
- Use the service in a way that could damage, overload, or impair it.
- Use automated scripts to access the service without prior written consent.
- Use the AI features in an automated, bulk, or abusive manner, or attempt to circumvent AI credit allowances or rate limits.
8. Intellectual property
The Layoutr application, its design, and all associated software are the property of Van Dijk Ontwikkeling. Nothing in these terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you.
You keep ownership of the floor plans you upload and the layouts you create, including arrangements generated with the help of the AI features.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that scale calculations will be suitable for professional or construction purposes. AI-generated room detections and furnishing suggestions are automated estimates and may be inaccurate or incomplete. Always verify measurements independently before making purchasing or building decisions.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Dutch law, Van Dijk Ontwikkeling is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service, including loss of data stored in your browser.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service evolves. The date at the top of this page reflects the current version. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes shall be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands. If mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence grant you rights that cannot be contractually waived, those rights are unaffected by this clause.
