Layoutr is built for homeowners and renters who are moving or rearranging a room. The core promise is a single clear answer: does this piece of furniture fit in my space?

## Who it's for and how it compares

Layoutr is for regular homeowners and renters, not professional interior designers. People choose it over alternatives for a few specific reasons:

- Use your own floor plan. Upload the exact plan from your listing, your landlord, or a phone photo, and set it to real scale. Most tools make you rebuild rooms from scratch.

- **AI credits**: one credit powers one AI action (a room detection or a furnishing suggestion). Any paid plan can buy more at €4.99 per 50 credits, and top-up credits never expire.

## Common questions

- **Do I need an account?** No. The full core tool works with no sign-up.
- **What if I don't have a floor plan?** Use the plan from your rental or sale listing, a photo of a printed plan, or a phone snapshot of a blueprint. Any top-down image works once you set the scale. No plan at all? Draw your own rooms from scratch and the scale is set automatically as you draw. And if you do have a plan, AI-vision room detection can read it and rebuild the rooms to scale for you (Pro).
- **Can I use it on my phone?** Not for planning. Layoutr is desktop-only, since you need room to place furniture accurately. Opening it on a phone shows a short form instead of the planner: leave your email and we send a reminder with a link so you can pick it up at a computer.
- **Can I work in meters, feet, or inches?** Yes, all three. Set the scale and read measurements in whichever unit you think in.
- **Where is my data stored?** Your floor plans and projects stay in your browser on your own device. They are never stored on our servers, and there is no ad tracking.
- **Is it really free?** Yes. The core tool is free with no account, including drawing your own rooms from scratch, with up to 3 furniture pieces per floor. Pro (€4.99/month) and Lifetime (one-time €19.99) add AI-vision room detection, AI-powered furnishing, unlimited furniture, multiple floors per project, and save and load. The AI tools run on credits: Pro includes 50 per month and Lifetime includes 100 to start, and any paid plan can top up at €4.99 per 50 credits.
- **How is it different from design software?** Layoutr is a fit-checker for regular movers and renters, not a CAD or 3D design suite. You upload your own plan at real scale instead of rebuilding the room from a template.
- **Does Layoutr use AI?** Yes, on Pro. AI-vision room detection analyzes an uploaded floor plan and detects the rooms and walls automatically, rebuilding them to scale so there is no manual tracing. AI-powered furnishing suggests a complete, true-to-size furniture arrangement from a short description of how you use the room. Both are optional, and everything can be adjusted by hand; the free core tool works without AI.
